Nice spot, decent hotel, lacks beach towels!

Good location, useful shop, decent breakfast, nice touch to have complimentary snacks and drinks in room

Ran out of beach towels every single day. Rather than put up a sign saying no more towels available maybe just buy some more? This is a basic essential for guests. Towels are not a big expense. Toilets off reception and changing rooms bit grim and basic I’d avoid this place if you have kids. It is quite an adult spot and people don’t like the children being in the pool and playing. There is no rule against kids in the pool (the hotel even sells water guns, balls and rubber rings for them to take in) but it’s clear families are not really wanted there but the predominantly adult guest population Also, avoid booking the boat trips through the hotel . We paid RM100 each for a snorkelling trip. We knew there were much cheaper offerings down the beach but we assumed this was a better quality hotel vetted trip. Instead the boat that picked us up and then went down the beach to pick up the others who had paid much less for the exact same tour. 14 felt too many in the small boat. There was also no snorkelling equipment for children despite us being reassured twice there would be. We paid for them but they had no appropriately sized mask etc so they could not actually snorkel.

Nice place to stay!

Good location, nice rooms, possibility to add breakfast upon paying an extra fee, the bar in the room is complimentary which is absolutely amazing! They gave us water, tea and few other drinks, generous selection too

There was a drain smell in our room, nothing too nad but could smell it when coming from outside

A pleasant stay, fulfilled our needs.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They provided a complimentary breakfast for a day.

The room had electrical cuts several times a day. The view behind our room must be improved.

Wonderful

I like everything. I was in Thailand last year, in PhiPhi island, and, for me, perhentian islands are better than the others, because is not really bussy and the people from the island are really good and polite people.

I like everything. The thing, for saying one, that like less is the price for the room. I think the price for our hotel is a little bit expensive.

The drain smell coming from the toilets near the lobby really needs to be fixed. You can smell it while swimming and it damages the overall great experience at the hotel

Beautiful location, amazing staff but pricey!

1. Probably the best location on Long Beach, perched from an elevated location with great views of the length of Long Beach. The snorkelling just 20 metres from the resort was as good, if not better, than the snorkelling available via boat tours. 2. The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. They assisted with getting us from the sales office and onto the boat and didn't leave us second guessing ourselves. Midway through our stay, we made an unscheduled trip back to the mainland and the staff were super helpful both at the resort and from the sales office on the mainland to make sure we got there safely and returned safely.

1. The cost to house a family was pricey as we needed to book 2 separate hotel rooms (the family suites were even more expensive and understandably vacant). Keep in mind that inferior accommodation on Long Beach is also relatively expensive compared to the mainland. 2. Our room looked like it was due for maintenance work, particularly the tiles in the shower where grout was coming loose or non-existent. The ferry wharf of the island (presumably not part of the resort) was also starting to show a lot of wear and tear. Bear in mind though that it would be very difficult to get trades and materials out to a remote island like this.

Nice hotel, good rooms, beautiful beaches. Lousy food.

Great sea view Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Have a salt water pool. Nice modern building. Modern looking toilet which are clean. Have good amenities like bath robe, indoor slippers and out door slippers.

Common area needs to be more clean. Beach sand is everywhere. Staff do not bother to sweep away the sand. Garbage bins in the common area not emptied. The hotel do not sell alcohol. Food is no good. Restaurant staff is not attentive enough. The staff making a lot of noise while having a good time in common area after their shift ended. Noise disturbance to others.

Appearances can be deceptive

The bed was comfortable and the hotel was newly constructed and right next to the jetty

The construction of the hotel is poor and appears that without remedial work the place will look very shabby in a few years, already things are broken and not being fixed. The breakfast was poor and could so easily be improved.

Convenient place to stay for non-backpackers on Perhentian Kecil

Great location at the Northern end of Long Beach. Easy to get to this hotel from the jetty via pier, no need to drag or carry your luggage over the beach. If you take the ocean view room, you have a great view from your balcony over the beach and bay, with the green hills in the background. Room was spacious. Hotel is huge, but due to its dark color, it blends in a bit with the trees in the background, so it's not some huge monster out of place in paradise. With its swimming pool, it is a great place for families. Diving and snorkeling trips can be arranged right in front of the hotel.

Hotel is new but it looks as if the construction was done cheaply and is in need of some repairs already. No shower doors, so you have a wet bathroom floor after your shower, Breakfast was poor and should be improved. The pool has no showers (or I just didn't look hard enough), so it has a film of sun tan oil on top. Many boats anchored on the beach right in front of the hotel: good for the boat trips, but be careful with the sharp anchors sticking up from the sand!

Nice stay

Probably the best resort on Long Beach. Conveniently next to the jetty. Room was nice.

No WiFi in the room! Very frustrating. Staff managed to get me a good connection in the lobby area. Breakfast could have more choices for vegetarians.

Very luxurious way to spend time on Kecil island, the staff were absolutely amazing.

Logistics: Mimpi were awesome at sorting out all my travel from when I landed in Kota Bharu airport until I reached the resort. They sent a driver (you have to request and pay for this), then I bought the ferry tickets from their office near the jetty, then they led me to the boat and it was totally hassle free. On the way back, I told them what boat I needed to get back on to reach my flight, and they organised it, then when I got to the mainland, had someone waiting for me at the jetty, who took me to my driver and drove me back to Kota Bharu airport. Now that I've been once, it's probably not worth spending the money to have this custom service (unless you like it!), but it took all the hassle out when going somewhere new for the first time (the jetty is an hour away from Kota Bharu airport). Room: Room was comfortable, air conditioned, clean and the bathroom was great. Shower and bed were particularly good. Breakfast: I had breakfast included, and the breakfast buffet was pretty good (not amazing, but not bad). Standout: a bit of variety every morning and the specialised egg counter! Location: Right at the northern end of the long beach, everything on the beach is within walking distance. It's the closest resort to the jetty, and you won't need to walk on the beach to get there (good if you have suitcases rather than backpacks). Staff: Fall over themselves to help you, they were lovely! At one point, I had them attend to a splinter in my foot when I was a bit overzealous with walking barefoot, genuinely amazing. Sometimes there's a bit of a language barrier but easy enough to navigate.

Room: Smell was a bit artificial, whatever air freshener they were using smelt a bit odd, but you quickly forgot about it after 5 min in the room. Wifi: I had massive problems with the wifi, neither of my Apple devices would connect to the general Mimpi wifi, although they did have some technical workarounds. The first two options they suggested didn't work for me (I reckon this is just my bad luck...) and the third involved restoring all my network settings which was a bit drastic for a 3 night stay. However, the staff gave me access to their staff wifi which worked in the lobby area and was as reliable as you'd expect on a remote-ish island! So it didn't bother me much.

Beautiful Beach, Nice Hotel

Breakfast was decent, location was perfect being right by the jetty. Room and toilet was clean, aircon was really cold. View was amazing. Awatif restaurant nearby is a great place to eat.

Snorkelling gear outside the hotel is expensive (Bubu's is free) and the guys are rude.

A good Pick

It was a very good experience start to end. Right from the teams communication over Booking.com to checkin and Checkout process. The best part is the location right near the Jetty. The rooms are spacious and have a PADI center and a nice little spa with good services. Will definitely go back and would recommend to friends

Perfect for honeymoon!

The staff is very helpful and nice, the location is superb, the room is big, very clean and with Wifi! We could snorkel right from the beach in front of the hotel. We left our things in the hotel chairs and went snorkel by the pier and it was awesome!

Breakfast could be better. Did not like the fact that the eggs (scrambled or otherwise) were made in advance and not by request. Didn't like the way the yogurt is served, it was in a uncovered bowl with ice on the bottom.
